Congratulations to Lisa Rodman, our 2024 Personal Project Queen! Are you ready to wear the crown in 2025?
To be in the running for the 2025 Personal Project Queen, you must notify Diane Scholfield BEFORE your Personal Project takes place. Submit the Online Form (below), print out the Personal Project Application form below and give it to Diane at a meeting; or, just email the information on the form to her. (Please, no texts, and you can get her email address from the roster.)
If your personal project is an event for 10 or more people (a "party" Personal Project), you MUST check with Diane before you set the date. Diane is keeping a master calendar, and can help you avoid scheduling your event too close to another member’s PP, or one that conflicts with a holiday, or a larger event on the Soroptimist calendar. June 30 is the final day to do a Personal Project. You MUST provide an "end time" and address in order to create your online pay link.
If you want to do a Personal Project, here’s what you need to know:
* We are spacing Party Personal Projects at least two weeks apart. So, plan for the first two weeks in a month, or the last two. And BE SURE to check with Diane before you choose a date.
* You may do a Boutique Personal Project, or an Ongoing Personal Project at any time; however, check with Diane before scheduling a Boutique PP. Boutique PPs are those with fewer than 10 participants. An example would be a craft class, or a “fill-up-my-car-with-people” trip for an excursion to a local fun spot. Think line dancing, the Beyond Monet & Beyond Van Gogh event at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, a guided hike. Ongoing PPs are things like washing cars, planting a garden (you plant what the person buys), closet clean-out consultation, etc. Give Diane a shout and she can brainstorm with you.
* You can do a non-event Personal Project any time. Look to Dirty Deeds for some examples. You can offer airport rides (decide how many you want to do, how much to charge, and put out the word to your various friend circles). You can do a garage sale. You can wash cars. You can do a walk and collect pledges. Give Diane a shout and she can brainstorm with you. But remember: You still need to register your Personal Project in advance if you want it to count toward Queen status.
