The Oceanside Fire Department’s eight firehouses provide a presence in every neighborhood throughout the 41 square miles of the City of Oceanside. The department's goal is to efficiently and effectively serve the community.
The lives of over 180,000 residents and visitors are protected 24 hours per day, 365 days per year by 115 full-time fire personnel, seven full-time lifeguard personnel, 76
part-time lifeguard personnel, with an additional staff of eight providing support.
The Oceanside Fire Department's (OFD) mission is to meet and exceed community needs and expectations through the preservation and protection of life, property, and the environment. We will work collaboratively, with our citizens and other agencies to provide constant service with an all-risk approach. The OFD decision-making culture will be based on the needs of the community, the city, the fire department, and the personnel who serve the city. The OFD is committed to providing the community with the resources necessary to meet their needs at the highest level of proficiency and quality possible.
Our dedicated personnel will always remain mindful of the best interests of our citizens.

Project Speed – Denise Korenek
One woman. One bicycle. One amazing goal!
On September 14-17, 2018, Denise Korenek (Mueller) will chase the overall
Paced Bicycle men’s record of 167 mph!
She is the first/current female record holder at 147mph in 2016. Some of her awards include the 15 time USA National Champion, two podiums at the World Championships and Ironman finisher.
What is the Paced Bicycle Land Speed Record?
Bicycle records set when the cyclist drafts (rides) behind a motor vehicle to minimize wind resistance. The vehicle is usually modified slightly by adding a tail fairing (an exterior structure) to keep the wind off the cyclist who is riding behind it.
